1TCM-Targeted Case Manager
This is us! We help develop plans, make referrals, follow-up with our client’s monthly, and help with assessments of needs.
2MCO-Managed Care Organization
This is just a fancy way to say your Medicaid insurance Provider, the three in Kansas are Aetna, Sunflower, and United.
3CDDO-Community Developmental Disability Organization
The CDDO oversees providers and clients within their coverage area. They complete the eligibility process for the I/DD waiver and complete quality assurance checks.
4PCSP- Person Centered Support Plan
This is what a Targeted Case Manager write for all their clients annually. It reflects preferences, support needs, and goals to work to get to the client’s preference.
5PBSP-Positive Behavior Support Plan
In the case that there is a need for behavior modifications, your case manager is able to write a behavior plan. This is to help modify the behavior through positive interventions and environmental modifications.
6HCBS- Home and Community Based Services
This is a type of Medicaid service, that provides I/DD services (residential, day, or in-home services)
7Abuse
Abuse is any physical injury, physical neglect, emotional injury, or sexual act inflicted upon a person.
8Neglect- Physical Neglect
Acts or omissions by a parent, guardian, or person responsible for the care of a child resulting in harm to a child, or presenting a likelihood of harm.
9Exploitation
Defined as the act of using resources or the act of treating people unfairly in order to benefit from their efforts or labor.

1Facts about conflict free case management
Pursuant to authority provided by 1915(c) of the Social Security Act, the Department has established contractual agreements about services and supports provided to eligible individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. Commonly called Medicaid Waivers, the federal government, through the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), provides approximately 50% of the total funding for these Medicaid Waiver services. The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services passed a final rule (42 CFR § 441.301(c)(1)(vi)) in March 2014 requiring separation of case management and direct services
